Originally from small town New Zealand, Marieke’s first introduction to massage was when she was around 7 years old when she would massage her parent’s heads while they watched T.V, sending them to sleep!

After graduating with a Diploma of Art & Design from Whitcliffe Art School in Auckland she packed her bags and jumped the ditch over to Melbourne where after finding her feet, she studied floristry then later joined The Southern School of Natural Therapies.

After returning to Melbourne after travelling overseas, she finished her Introduction to Naturopathy Certificate and wondered what to do next.

Then Marieke discovered the power of Reiki and later Studied Reiki 1 & 2 with ASUI SHIKI RYOHO Reiki School in Melbourne.

Now knowing that she had finally found her passion for the power of touch, she decided to drive to Perth with her fiancé and study massage. After graduating from The Australasian Academy of Wellness Therapies (AAOWT) with Cert 4 in Relaxation Massage, Marieke is now a member of the wonderful team at KALM Wellness Centre in North Perth where she lives her passion providing Relaxation/Deep Tissue Massage and Reiki every Wednesday morning, Thursday and Saturday afternoon.

Marieke’s style of massage incorporates deep relaxation with the aid of Reiki and fluid massage strokes while making sure her client is using their breath to quieten the mind.

For clients looking for a deeper massage, Marieke uses her remedial skills to work deeper into the muscle tissues by using trigger point therapy and deep massage strokes with the combination of PNF stretching so her client can experience greater movement and flexibility.
